THE PROBLEM
Waste generation has increased massively around the world. Billions of tons of waste deposited in landfills are creating issues for future generations that we don’t fully understand. Much of this buried garbage breaks down at a very slow rate producing carbon dioxide and methane plus it contains known toxins. Second to this, the world is facing rapid growth in energy demand, persistently high energy prices, and a challenge to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
